David Poole, R.I.P.

I'm sitting here in the computer lab of UNC Charlotte, still stunned to see the words on my screen: David Poole 1959-2009

For my money, I would say there was no better NASCAR writer than David Poole. He was his own man and he would question what needed to questioned. I didn't agree with him on every issue in this sport, but he was damn smart and he will unquestionably be missed. This one will hurt the sport.
